In the box is 25 pounds of the finest quality hard white wheat in the world it
is 100% all-natural and chemical-free, produced in the heart of Montana's Golden
Triangle; an area known for producing the highest quality wheat in the world.
White wheat is similar to hard red in its nutritional properties, except that
the bran has a white color and it maintains a softer and lighter texture in
breads than hard red wheat.
White wheat's primary uses are milling for bread making and noodle production.
Farmers regularly store wheat up to 13%
moisture after it has been cooled. Our wheat is stored between 7%-12% moisture.
Wheat should be stored in a cool dark and dry environment. This can be
accomplished, even in humid climates, by storing in an airtight or sealable
container or bag and placing an O2 absorber in the packaging. Storing in the
freezer will also insure great quality. The further you deviate from these
recommendations, the shorter the shelf life of your wheat. For example, there
are wheat varieties that have been discovered in recent years in Egyptian
pyramids that were still viable. So, stored properly, it can last almost
indefinitely without affecting the quality.
Be sure to store all grain products in a location where rodents or other little
creatures cannot access them. If no location is available, replace the bags with
buckets or other suitable containers.
Food grade buckets can be readily obtained, sometimes free of charge, but always
inexpensively, from the bakery section of your local grocery store or
supermarket.
